Medicare

On January 1, 2001, the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) began providing coverage for AAC devices to Medicare beneficiaries with Part B coverage. Medicare calls AAC devices "speech generating devices," or SGDs, and covers AAC devices as durable medical equipment within its Part B benefit.

Medicare covers all devices in the DynaVox Technologies product line, including the Vmax, V, M3, DynaWrite, Palm3 and the Lightwriter devices featured on this website Medicare also provides coverage for switches, switch mounts, device rental and repair.
